I LIVE(D)FOR THIS
Being a Yankees fan living in Colorado does not give me a lot of opportunities to watch the Yankees play here or even watch a winning team play here for that matter but in the year 2007 that would all change. Not only did I get to see the Yankees play during a interleague series but my hometown team the Colorado Rockies would go to the World Series for the first time and I would have lived for this, literally.
On October 15, 2007 the Colorado Rockies were set to play the Arizona Diamondbacks and I was set to watch the game on tv when I had my first serious car accident that day. It happened so fast but yet in slow motion as I knew something was coming but could not manage to stop it and then bam… it hit. I had slammed my head into a air bag at the time thinking it was the window feeling my brain actually move inside my head as if a bat hit a ball fighting for a home run and then I screamed. Left with horrible head pain and several lacerations on me it became the most horrifying moment in my life leaving me with millions of thoughts in just a single moment. Am I going to die? Am I going to fade out anytime now? I am going to miss the Rockies play now. Are they going to go to the World Series? Just before the accident I was in a conversation about my hometown team and if we should go knowing that it could cost us. That night ended with the Rockies clinching the pennant and on their way as we were on our way to the hospital.
But it didn’t cost us, not in the most important sense as we were released from the hospital that night having sneeked a peek at the game that was playing on a tv down the hall. After that worrying about the cost of a ticket seemed silly as the ultimate cost had not been paid. So off we went to the first World Series for us and for Colorado and it was exciting and I lived for it.
A TALE OF TWO PRETZELS

Now the pretzel is known for it’s simple and tasty traditions at baseball games and with that being said my pretzel fetish started there no less. But where do you ask is the perfect pretzel? Numerous attempts by everyone and their mother (not litterly, my mother could care less) has lead me to one conclusion. In an attempt to find out, I experimented (that’s what everyone says but I’m talking about pretzels here).
Starting with the ballpark, I found my first love. Not a cheap out of the box pretzel but not too fancy eaither. I’m a simple girl with simple tastes. Just a little bit of mustard does the trick.
Now restaurants are known for their food but please don’t offer pretzels unless you’re a brewery or a bar. Or maybe not. I can say one of the worst pretzels I have ever had was at a corner bar. They put that folded up piece of bread in the microwave! How dare they!!! That should be a crime. If your’re going to cook a pretzel it needs to be baked or reheated in the oven for that super crunchy taste. So this little guy did not count.
The real 2nd best pretzel I have had was once again at a ballpark. This one with a twist. I was at Yankee Stadium buying my gourmet pretzel and all of a sudden it slipped out of my hands and fell on the ground. I picked it up and quickly wiped it off and went about my business of eating my pretzel. Of course I could not get away with that without being seen as one of the people I went with said “Are you gonna eat that, it fell on the ground?” I said “Don’t you know the 5 second rule?” They looked at me smiling and screaming “eeww”. You know what they say,if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you it is meant to eat. It sure did!Right out from under me. What a save!
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO…………………? PART 1
Sam Militello. He had pitched for the Yankees in the early 90s. One of my favorites but that did not last long and neither did he because moving across the country did not keep me in touch with the “Yankee” in me and I had stopped watching baseball for a bit. Now being in my 30s, honestly, I do not know what I was thinking. He’s been coaching in Tampa.

Tino Martinez (I have to give a shout out to this favorite of mine) He’s been modeling at least I think was a few years ago. I probably should not even have him in this list cause there is a link on my blog to get the current news on this guy but I have wanted to put him on this blog since I started. You ladies can understand this.lol. A flawless first baseman and guy.
But I’m throwing in a extra pic!!!!

Im not done here.
